Book Club Report 2

I have read about 21 pages in this week. Now I almost understand about 90% of what I read. It was in 1943, JANE went to the church every week with her MAMA and JOHN(younger brother). On that day, they met a new woman at the congregation in the church. A lot of people living on Morgan Hill didn't like this woman, and they were really anger about she would live on Morgan Hill.
I think the most interesting character is JOHN because he is a very funny guy. He always makes her mama feels anger, and he usually makes a joke.
Her MAMA took a new job at the store and I think somethings would happen there.

Vocabulary:
(1) preach (v.) esecially in a church during a service.
(2) swatted (v.) to hit sth.
(3) frustrated (adj.) feeling annoyed and impatient because you cannot do or achieve what you want.

Book Club Report #1

The title ofmy book is "The Angels of Morgan Hill". Author is DONNA VANLIERE. I found this book from bookstore in downtown. I don't remember the name of this bookstore. I chose this novel because the front page is beautiful, and the title is interesting, so I bought it.

This story is about a little girl called JANE. Jane is living in a tiny while farmhouse with her MAMA and a younger brother,JOHN, on Morgan Hill. Jane's DANNY is dead when he was 28 years old, and Jane was only nine. Her daddy was a diabetic and drunk. This story was started after her daddy died.

I think I am going to like this book, although it is a little difficult!

HELLO! Nice to meet you all~

HELLO! I am OSCAR, 18 year-old, I am from Hong Kong!

I've been living in Seattle for more than 3 months. This is my second quarter in this school. I'm living with 3 roommates in apartment right now, two guys are from China and one guy is Korean . I lived with Host Family last quarter. That Host family is good, they are really nice and friendly. However, they didn't have enough food for me, so I always felt hungry during that time. It is very terrible for me, so finally I moved out...Anyway, it is a good experience for me.

Why did I come to the United States to Study? Actually I didn't finish the A-Level in HongKong before I came to Seattle. Studying in university in HongKong is really difficult. Also, my English isn't good, so I wanted to study in the United States. I think this is the best way to improve my English.

I would like to study in Business (Maketing or Human Resources) in the future. I am going to stay in Seattle about four years, until I graduated from U

All in all, nice to meet you in the class.
